2 weeks of at-home whitening
You will meet our dentist at Pennington Dental in a non-clinical setting to discuss what you like and dislike about your smile. You will be able to ask lots of questions about our cosmetic dentistry treatments and how they may benefit you.
As part of your consultation, you will also meet your cosmetic dentist in the dental surgery who will clinically assess your smile. Your dentist will advise how teeth whitening can benefit your smile, based on your unique needs.
If you decide that you would like teeth whitening treatment, our dentist will help you with the next steps. They will provide additional information and book your appointment here in Stratford-upon-Avon or Kenilworth. We will send your impressions to our lab who will make your bespoke whitening trays.
You will come back to Pennington Dental to collect your trays two weeks later. We will fully explain how your treatment works by showing you how much gel to use and how long your whitening trays should be worn for.
We will see you for a review appointment after two weeks to check your shade in comparison to your original clinical images. Your dentist will advise whether you should continue to whiten your teeth at home.

We use Boutique Whitening, which is a professional product only available as prescribed by a dental professional. This means it is a regulated product, making it completely safe for use while also being extremely effective. Our patients always achieve excellent results with Boutique Whitening.
Teeth whitening treatment works to remove stains that have built up naturally over time. The main factors that cause staining are the foods and drinks we consume, habits such as smoking, and the aging process. Teeth whitening treatment will reveal a whiter, brighter smile that is completely natural.
During your free initial consultation we will listen to likes and dislikes about your smile and understand what you would like to achieve from your teeth whitening. We will assess your smile and check your oral health to ensure everything looks good to go ahead with treatment. If you decide to go ahead with teeth whitening treatment, we can take an impression of your teeth that will be used by our dental lab to create your bespoke whitening trays.
Once your whitening trays come back to us from the dental lab, you will come in to see us at Pennington Dental to collect them and your whitening gel kit. Your dentist will show you how much gel to put in your trays and explain how long you should wear them for.
We offer night whitening, worn overnight (for 4-6 hours). You should not eat or drink while you are wearing your trays. Your dentist will explain the benefits of each, and you can select the one that best suits your lifestyle.
Your teeth whitening treatment will be carried out at home, as directed by your dentist. Most patients will begin to see their shade lightening after a few days, achieving their desired results after 14 days of continuous use. It may take longer in some patients; this is quite normal. We will book a review appointment after two weeks so that we can assess your tooth shade and advise whether you should continue whitening.
There is no definitive answer to this as every patient is different and lifestyle factors such as your diet and whether you smoke will affect your teeth whitening results. Your dentist will be able to give you an estimate during your initial consultation, but as a general rule, our patients like to top up their teeth whitening every six months using a single syringe of gel.
Teeth whitening products from your dentist are completely safe. This is because teeth whitening is considered the practice of dentistry, and all products we use are professional and highly regulated to ensure both effectiveness and safety. Only products from your dentist can guarantee results and the health of your teeth and gums.
Teeth whitening treatment can only whiten natural teeth. Restorations, such as dental crowns or composite bonding, will only ever be as white as their original shade. If whitening treatment causes your teeth to become brighter than your existing restorations, you may have to consider replacing them to match your new shade.
