Pennington Bear was on hand to welcome 15 local youngsters with their Beaver pack; they had some great questions including:
When should you brush your teeth in the morning? Before or after breakfast?
If you lose two teeth on the same day does the tooth fairy pay you double?
Why do you paint the teeth with fluoride at every exam?
Dr Fuz Jamall, Principal Dentist, said: “I’m really impressed, the beavers did really well when asked the standard check up questions and knew it was wrong to only brush their teeth once a day, eat lots of chocolate, drink coke and to only see the dentist every two years. We try really hard to make coming to the dentist relaxing and fun for children, to keep their teeth as healthy as possible.”
The Beavers were given a talk on brushing properly, how cavities are made, the sugar content in some food and drink and how often to brush. They also had the chance to look at some of their teeth with the intraoral camera and saw the pictures on a big screen.
Pennington Bear gave every beaver a goodie bag.
Last weekend, SpongeBlog Face Painting helped us to make a visit to the dentist more fun for 73 children! This was the first of six Kids Days we’re holding this year. The next one is on Easter Saturday, 25 March.
