Appointment Cancellation Policy - Pennington Dental

Pennington Dental has a strict policy regarding missed appointments. Our cancellation notice period is 48 hours, including weekends. Any notice given under 48 hours is considered a short notice cancellation. You can cancel your appointment via telephone, voicemail, email, text message, or in person.

Missed Appointments:

First Appointment: You must attend your first appointment with our practice to be offered another appointment.

‍NHS Appointments: If you fail to attend or cancel an NHS appointment on short notice, you will be de-registered from the practice and can no longer access dental care with us. Any future appointments will be cancelled, and you will be notified via email or post.

‍Private Dental Treatments: A charge will apply for private appointments if you give short notice, cancel (less than 48 hours), or fail to attend. The fee is £1 per minute for hygienist appointments and £2 per minute for private dental appointments. You can rebook your appointment once the missed appointment fee is paid. If you miss another appointment after that, you will be de-registered from the practice and can no longer access dental care with us. Future appointments will be cancelled, and you will be notified via email, text, or post.

‍Denplan Patients: If you are a Denplan patient, you must cancel your agreement and directly debit Denplan. The practice cannot cancel your plan on your behalf.

Repeated Cancellations:

If you cancel multiple appointments, the practice reserves the right not to offer any future dental appointments.

Dental Hygienist Appointments:

For cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or if you fail to attend your appointment, a missed appointment fee of £1 per minute will be charged based on the scheduled length of your appointment.

Appointment Reminders:

We endeavour to send appointment reminders to all patients who have appointments and have provided us with up-to-date contact details. However, these reminders are a courtesy and should not be relied upon. It is the patient’s responsibility to keep track of any appointments booked.
