Family Dentistry

At Pennington Dental, we pride ourselves in providing high quality care for the whole family. We treat patients of all ages, and are particularly keen about the preventive aspects of dental care. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere at each of our offices allows everyone to feel comfortable, including kids who might be afraid of the dentist!

Many of our patients come for regular check-ups and hygienist visits twice a year, which keeps their teeth in great condition and require a small amount, if any, of dental work.

During check-up visits, we go through your medical history, check the health of your soft tissues, your teeth and gums and carry out an oral cancer screening. We may need to take some radiographs (x-rays) of your teeth during your check-up.  If so, we'll discuss the findings with you so that you can fully understand why a certain treatment may be required.

Oral Health Education

At Pennington Dental, we believe that preventing is better than curing. We focus on prevention by ensuring that our patients know how to look after their teeth and gums. Dr Fuz and his hygienists will provide you with oral hygiene instructions and explain the best techniques to clean your teeth and gums. We will also give you diet advice and smoking cessation advice if required. We offer a monthly payment plan (Preventative Membership plan) that covers you for your routine exams, cleaning visits and a discount of our usual fees to ensure you maintain your teeth for life

Fissure Sealants

A fissure sealant is a tooth coloured varnish that is applied on children’s molars to reduce the risk of developing decay on those teeth. The biting surfaces of molars have many grooves and pits and they are difficult for children to keep clean and therefore are prone to develop decay. The application of this varnish makes the tooth surface smoother, hence easier to clean and also reduces the likelihood of bacteria sticking on the tooth.

Fillings

We offer both high quality white fillings and stronger bonded silver fillings as well as laboratory fabricated white restorations that blend with and strengthen the remaining tooth structure.
