- Patients who want to keep their treatment needs to a minimum by embracing modern preventive dentistry.
What is different about these types of plans?
- The emphasis is on prevention of dental disease.

- We are able to spend time using modern preventive techniques to keep your mouth and teeth healthy for life.
As part of this plan you will see the dentist and the dental hygienist twice a year or more if the dentist thinks that is necessary for you to keep your mouth healthy. What does a dental hygienist do?
Dental hygienists are specially trained to work as part of the dental team, to give care to patients.
They play an important part in dental health care and are mainly concerned with preventive dental health and treating gum disease, showing you correct home care and helping to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
The hygienist’s main work is to treat and prevent gum disease by professionally cleaning your teeth and treating your gums and, probably more importantly, by showing you how to care for your teeth and gums at home.
Do I need to see a dental hygienist, can the dentist not carry out this work?
Hygienists are experts at this kind of work and at Pennington Dental we have three hygienists, Karen, Jenna and Meena. They all work very closely with the dentists and the rest of the team to ensure our patients get the best of care and the best prevention to ensure healthy teeth and gums for life.
